Druska’s people were the practical type and cared little for make believe fiction. Her reference for the unnatural thing Braden had just done was religious. Long before the peoples of her empire had solved the greatest mathematical and physics problems in existence and yet nowhere had they found evidence of any supreme beings or greater design. Instead choosing to worship a future planning artificial intelligence called Algorithm.
No one in the empire had even imagined that powers or abilities existed outside of their genetic databases. Here standing before Druska was something the Great Algorithm had never predicted and couldn’t imagine. A gorgeous and powerfully built human breaking the laws of physics, as he gave her back her weapon.
She could feel the energy within the man, the air around him faintly crackled with it. Like the engine of a Great Ship heart had awakened within him. It was with reverent hands that she accepted the pistol from him.
“You are filled with holy powers!” Druska said in awe.
“The power comes from this world, and somehow I am able to tap into it.” The man said, his deep voice sending chills through Druska’s being. She was trapped and lost on this far flung world. It would be months or even years before a rescue attempt was made, and that only if there was profit in it.
“The earth magic is in your too, I can feel it,” The man said, “but you don’t seem able to access it. Is there any clothing I can wear in that ship?”
With a start Druska realized once again that the human was nude, her eyes straying to glance at the large and thick appendage hanging between his legs. Druska was not a designated Mating Partner so the pleasures of the flesh had always been denied her. Simulations had proven to be educational.
“Yes, there should be a uniform that will fit you, I have spares.” Looking down at her own torn and tattered clothing she decided she needed a change as well.
They headed over to the ship and Druska began pulling out items. She dug into the side panels of the ship and came out with two uniforms, one small for herself and one larger for the human. Disrobing she felt the man's eyes upon her body, though he tried to hide it.
“You said he magic was in me? How can that be?” Druska asked, looking for anything to distract herself from the unfamiliar tension filling the air. She pulled out a backpack and began filling it with rations and stim meds as the mad spoke.
“I can’t really explain better than that. I can sense the magic of this world now. It is not a sense I had in my old body or on my old world. This is all new to me. I see it like a flowing current, it takes a… color or shape when it enters you, but then it flows back out, untapped. Like there is a bridge there, but it’s just missing one piece to connect fully.
